for your award nomination form 1. Honor Roll of Excellence in Communication (client award)
Awarded to a CEO, department, company, agency, or other unit of an organization for encouraging excellence in communication. To be eligible, the client must have no fewer than five full-time employees and must offer a product or service other than communication consulting, marketing, or business/technical writing.
To nominate a client, provide a 1-2 page narrative addressing any of the following:
- The organization’s top-down commitment to writing
quality through training programs focused on writing.
- Money or time allocated to employee training in writing
or document design and development.
- Sponsorship or participation in presentations,
meetings, workshops or training programs.
- Emphasis on writing excellence in performance reviews and promotion criteria.
- Sponsorship of scholarships/awards for employees or
their family members for writing excellence.
- Supporting documentation such as course materials, before-and-after samples, testimony from relevant sources, etc.
2. Excellence in Writing (member award) Self-nominations welcome.
Awarded to an APCC member for outstanding writing, editing, or revision of a professional document.
To nominate a member for an original piece, provide a copy of the original document and a 1-2 page narrative addressing:
- The writing process.
- Any difficulties or challenges.
- Solutions to problems or challenges.
- The significance of the document, its merits, and the contribution it makes to the profession it serves.
To nominate a member for an edited or revised piece, provide a copy of both the original and the revision and a 1-2 page narrative addressing the points listed above.
3. Excellence in Training (member award—self-nominations welcome.
Awarded to an APCC member for conducting an outstanding communication training program or course.
To nominate a member, provide a 1-2 page narrative addressing:
- The overall plan of the training program as well as its
purpose, scope, and intended audience.
- The merits of the program, its effectiveness, and the
contribution this training makes to the profession/industry
it serves.
- Tupporting documentation such as sample course materials, evaluations, pre-/post-test summaries, participant/client testimony.
