Opportunities

Get Involved In APCC

Sharing our knowledge, experiences, talents and skills is the key feature that makes APCC so good. Of course, in APCC—as in any organization—you can participate as much or as little as you want. But obviously, the organization is stronger and serves its members better when we all make a contribution. Some of the areas of opportunity are listed below.

One-Time-Only Needs

You can help by:

  • Compiling listserv responses to specific topics and organizing them for posting on our new web site. You’ll get credit for editing.

  • Listing the top ten benefits to clients in a specific profession when they contract with a communication consultant.

    • To volunteer, submit your list of benefits to Janet Cherry at JTCTRAINER@aol.com

Committee Needs

You can help by volunteering to serve on any of these committees:

Membership Needs

You can help by:

  • Preparing and sending out New Member Orientation packets.

  • Preparing and sending out renewal notices.

  • Providing new ideas and unique approaches to member recruiting.

  • Leading a membership drive.

  • Spreading the word about our organization at other professional meetings and conventions.

    • To learn more about volunteer opportunities, from committee membership to one-time commitments, contact Pam Scott at pascott@mindspring.com.

Website Needs

You can help by:

  • Serving on the Website Transition Committee to help bring the website into final form. This commitment is for one year only. The Committee will determine how to keep the website up to date and packed with resources.

  • Serving on the special team that develops the electronic version of Consulting Success.

  • Writing for Consulting Success online. This opportunity can be one-time only or ongoing. Here’s a great opportunity to increase your publications.

  • Collecting material for the Members Only section on the website, such as sample proposals, contracts, marketing materials and the like, just for members. The more you can help, the more value the site will bring.
